Bringing back the punk.

Summer is coming, so it's time to funk it up a bit. Introducing today; Gogol Bordello, the self-proclaimed Gipsy Punks. Gogo Bordello is a punk formation founded in the USA, but it consists solely of immigrants from eastern Europe. Their style could be described as Romanian gipsy music, with a nice touch of punk in it. Their music really has an awesome vibe, it is perfect for the summer time. Wind in your hair, sun on your face, beer in your hand and Gogol Bordello in your ears!

.... meets metal

I will keep the ball rolling with even more covers, it's time to get ready for some metal.
I recently found out about this guy on youtube, he does guitar covers on a whole bunch of movie/tv/game themes. He is known by the name of 331Erock

I don't really know why, but i seem to enjoy covers very much, especially those of oldschool themes. Maybe it's because those themes which i remember so well, are now brought to me in a totally different way. And this guy is quite a master at doing so.

 Here are some examples:

Harry Potter, who isn't familiar with the movie theme ?

Game of Thrones, in my opinion one of the best series on air.

And he doesn't stick to just themes, here is an all-time classic; Never gonna give you up!

These are just a few of the awesome covers he did, you can find all of them at his Youtube Channel:

For those who like it hard

I've decided to make a seperate blog for my favourite music, since i believe most of you won't really like it.
So for those of you interested in Hardcore, Industrial, Frenchcore and  maybe even some Hardstyle and Hardtechno; visit it @ onlyhardhere.blogspot.com
There i will be posting and evaluating any interesting new releases i stumble upon.

Thanks for all the comments so far!

Going Gregorian

Gregorian music, you've probably heard (of) it.
It's what you hear in churches, all of the psalms and other christian songs are done the Gregorian way.
But Gregorian music isn't just for the religious people, and not all of the songs need to have christian lyrics.

An awesome formation, mostly German, who call themselves: Gregorian  These guys are great at covering modern (pop)songs in the oldschool way. With their great voices they manage to give most songs an epic touch.

But see for yourself, here are a few examples of covers they did:

Just search YouTube, these guys have done a lot of covers,
or just go here: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregorian for their CD's and such.

Skyrim cover #30274

Ok, i think Skyrim almost created its own genre in music, with the numerous remakes/tributes of the main theme. This one is done by the Hardstyle producer Headhunterz, who managed to reach the 17th spot in the 2011 DJ-Mag top 100. That's quite an accomplishment for a DJ/Producer in the "harder styles", wich isn't very popular outside of Europe. I'm not a very big fan of Headhunterz myself, but i do think he did a really good job at this one.

And if you really can't stand this kind of music, i know some people can't, at least make sure you get the part that starts around 1:30. He managed to enhance this part, with the awesome chorus, so that it sounds even better than it does in the original theme.
Just let me know what you think

Mathew Wilder - Break my stride

I just recently re-discovered this classic, i hope this will never leave my memory again.
For some reason this song works really motivating, makes me want to get up and do something useful, wich isn't all that bad once in a while.

t.A.T.u. - All the things she said

And here is the first piece of art i'm about to share with you.
And i start realizing that this blog will probably turn out to be all about nostalgia.
But so be it!

And we're off!

And today i start my second blog!
This blog will be all about the music i am currently listening, and this might be anything.

I don't think there will be a genre that won't be named in one way or another here.
I listen to a wide variety of music, but my favourite genres will be known to you soon enough, if you follow my blog that is.
